I love you more today than yesterday

Staircase Spiral Lyrics

It's an old song that I would belt out on every videoke session. I feel so high whenever I sing this song. Maybe because it comes from deep inside of me.

Before we got married, I was just plain in love. But several years into the marriage now, I realized that romantic love can take on a different form when you nurture it. When before i couldn't see myself doing the things i am doing now as a wife, and a parent, i'd like to think i have changed a lot. And my closest friends can attest to that.

I thank God for allowing me to be at the Luneta Ampitheater one fine January day; taking part in organizing a social activity so relevant it merited the presence of the President of the Republic. That was the day when my life started to get entangled in the political map of the country. That was the start of my career as a soldier's partner. The rest, as the cliche goes, is history.

I want the world to know I am a happy, fulfilled person not only because i have an underst...

Dioko Resort and Butterfly Farm

It was a holiday (May 1) and a perfect day for a family outing. The kids have been waiting for this all summer. Dioko Resort and Butterfly Farm is an ideal destination for families on a budget. It was all more than its worth (P80 entrance for adults, P50 for kids. Additional P600 for cottage) because the kids had really great fun, thrice over!

Why thrice? Because you can do more than swimming here at Dioko. The resort is also home to a mini-zoo with peacocks, eagles, monkeys, pigeons, snake, turtles, bear cat, deer, rabbit, etc. and for additional P50 (adults) and P30 (kids), you can enter an enclosed farm for a closer look at the butterflies (they also sell butterflies). An additional attraction is the Paint Ball Field (P200 for 50 bullets---mura na di ba?) but unfortunately we didn't get to try it because we had to go home at 5pm (back to work the following day), plus, Garic more interested on shooting inside a firing range para mas realistic daw (susme, hindi na nagsawa sa baril...

Family Chronicles

Welcome to our family blog site!

Let me share with you my thoughts and feelings about my family life. At this moment, all I can think about is the reason for having this blogsite named "The Second Family". Well, it was meant to be a joke by a friend. People close to us already know where my husband works and with the demands of his job, you might be inclined to think we are only "second" in the list of his priorities. But I totally understand. There's no regular day off for him, and we're lucky enough to see him once a week (for less than 24 hours at that!). It's not unusual for me to complain, but deep in my heart, I am so totally supportive of him, even if it means standing as a single parent to our two girls.

I just felt that the stories behind my (and my husband-in-absentia) struggle to raise this wonderful gift of a family is worth writing, not only to share with those who will take the time to read, but also as a personal keepsake for my kids to read in the future. Pardon the very ...
